Sounds like a javascript issue, have you tried this? In particular the firefox+firebug check?

Permissions all look good. They were working, and nothing has really changed except creating and deleting groups, changing pages etc. Is there an easy way to delete everything and start again ? As I said it's only testing at this point. 
 

If you want to delete everything, delete the WP Symposium core plugin for dashboard. It should delete all symposium tables (ie. data) too. Although there will be some options left behind. Or if you can, delete the entire database and your plugins directory - that'll do it.

From next release, the uninstall via dashboard will clean up everything, I'm doing that now to catch up with recent releases.
