Account Login widget issue

I have a Symposum login widget on the right sidebar. If I do not have the panel tool active, the login fields for user name and password go outside of the sidebar, like photo 1 shows. If I have it active, it fits within the sidebar, but you can see there is now a scroll bar so the whole white area shows...seems to be an issue with the login widget of Symposium. I may want to disable the panel plugin, and if i do I then have this box outside the sidebar issue. Ideas to fix this?

To address the question which was asked, if you understand css try the following:

Firebug it then change the css. Change the width of input feilds to desired pxls (or percentages). Change any overflow:auto to overflow: hidden or just add overflow:hidden!important if it's not there. This should kill the scrollbar.

Throwing plugins at every issue is great, but tends to keep one uneducated regarding the problems they run into...

The plugin solution will work if you do not understand css, but doesn't help you understand things for next time when a plugin won't fix the boo-boo.

Wasn't taking a poke at your knowledgs level, it just seems that when someone has a legitimate problem with Symposium they are often told about another plugin instead of actually addressing the problem with Symposium as it was presented. It has happened to me several times.

I don't know if you are actually part of the team here, or a self proclaimed expert. Do they pay you for being here? Are you related to Simon? (if there indeed is an individual named "Simon Goodchild") What exactly is your affiliation here? If answers other than your own bother you, maybe you should see if Simon would let users just email you instead of using the forum which by definition is an open conversation.

Didn't mean to hurt your sensitive feelings. This is the Symposium forum and when people ask questions, they are about getting Symposium to function properly.

If other plugins are the only way to get Symposium to work right, then why have a forum for Q & A. Just list the necessary plugins that are required for this one to work.

My prior message was simply to pass on knowledge. If you are that easily offended then perhaps you should consider hanging out at a political forum which is designed for sensitive people to argue.

Things need to loosen up around here for an actual exchange of meaningful knowledge

Maybe you should consider the fact that some of us have been here quite a wile and have been waiting for the developer to follow through with what he committed to in the past, and has not done so.

Other plugins that I recommend are very good plugins and are updated. WPS, as you have pointed out is in serious trouble due to the fact that nobody can easily make needed modifications on their active websites.. But hey.. you are welcome to do a better job.. I have seen you make some rather disparaging comments regarding the developer yourself, but you suggest that someone should address the problems rather than suggest another plugin.. Well, let's see your solutions.. CSS doesn't always fix things and as a matter of fact, it shouldn't be something that users should have to fix..

As for my participation here, trust me.. It is coming to a close.. so.. no worries there.. Good day..

If you know the code, I am more than happy to see you come up with the solutions.. Everyone here knows there need to be plenty of them.
