Hi @joe_g - this isn't currently an option, similar to Facebook (not that I'm trying to emulate Facebook), once a comment has been submitted (or shortly after), the option to edit is not available. 

This is also to avoid the "thread" of comments losing it's flow, when people edit previously entered comments, especially if there have been replies.

I suppose the options we have are:

1. Allow comments to be edited (owner/admin).
2. Compromise and allow deletions (take a copy, delete, re-add comment)
3. Leave as-is (always an option!)

In my defence (cough...), the gallery is on a few weeks old, so improvements will not doubt be required.

Thoughts anyone?

Maybe allow the just Admin and Owner to edit? My user has a really neat idea on how to use the Gallery as a tool to show a process of model building. But it will be a tedious process without an edit capability.



BTW - I think the Gallery is one of the very best features of Symposium.

I think that allowing the Admin to edit a comment is a must. Sometimes, people post inappropriate or inoffensive things (sploggers and spammers alike). We need some way to expunge the negative energy from wherever it appears.

See - I used the word Inoffensive when I meant, 'offensive', but I'm unable to edit my comment!

On the forum, you can set timeout for user edits, and admin can always edit (remember to reload the page if you've just posted a reply to get the edit icon).

I do think I need to allow photo comment edits, it does make sense, but will wait until I'm back properly before making any big changes and the buggering off! (ie. September). Will add to voting page.
