Inside the forum post you can do a simple link to an image URL. But in the Forum settings you can add forum attachments to allow members to upload from their computer. If both confuse, you can remove the image button in the WYSIWYG toolbars in forum settings.

Would it be possible to make uploading from the computer into the post possible, so that images can be shown in the post?
Uploading an attachement is clear to me, but is a different thing since it is not instantly showing up in the post.

And, yes, I am allways trying to find an answer first, before I am posting a question - but this is not allways the easiest way when you are not a native speaker...

No problem, happy to help what you are asking for is a new plugin to be developed for TinyMCE which could be done, just a matter of time :-/ I'll add to the to-do list though!

Not sure if this has been answered anywhere else.

When I set up a New Topic and fill in first Post in Topic it has a button to attach files. When I attach file/photo it shows it's progress while uploading, but it doesn't attach to post when submitted. If I then reply to the post and attach a file it allows the image to be attached and shows fine.

My gallery upload also works fine its just the initial New Topic Post. I have tried in IE and Firefox and same problem.

Before I change Themes and deactivate plugins etc just want to see if anyone else has this problem - and hopefully a solution. Lost some info last time I deactivated plugins and changed theme.
 

Hi @midway, if you get a chance try downloading the current release candidate - I spent some time going through the forum and smoothing out any problems, including the problem with the initial image not appearing. 

I have the exact same problem with a brand new symposium install.

I create a forum group, enter description then attach a file.

It loads the files ok. I then submit post but no image shows up at all.

Any help would be great.

In fact I just tried to upload a test file and got this error
