I am testing out wp-symposium on http://st.everythingeasternbeaches.com (subdomain).

Single site on subdomain - not multisite configuration.

I really love wp-symposium but I need some help with a couple of things.

If I can get that with the silver and bronze upgrade I'm more than happy to pay but I want to know if I can do this with the plugin.

I'm also trying to find out if I can create a Popular posts page made up from the most "liked" posts (or post with most thumbs up!).

 

In addition,

1) Like for Activity was suggested a while ago, at the Voting page, not yet decided.

To change icons, copy all the set of icons to a given location (outside of /plugins/), go to the settings page, Dashboard > Symposium > Settings, put this location in "WPS images URL"

2) The edition @Ellsweb is talking about is not permanent so had to be redone after each upgrade.

3) Could be a theme clash, too.

4) Regarding WP Symposium, a read-only access is possible, see Forum settings page in the dashboard.

With the thumbs up "like" I would like to be able to like the posts(article

feed items) created within the activity feed (not regular posts by

Wordpress). I see that in your wp-symposium site but I don't know why I

can't find them to enable them on my site.



I would like to disable the ability to use the Wordpress posts function and

just use the wp-symposium activity feed.



I am not using the forum feature I would just like the activity feed to be

able to be liked.



I am fairly familiar with Wordpress and have some coding experience but

mostly use plugins and templates. However, I am able to make changes to

stylesheets and files (when I know where to look )



I'll try for the popular posts plugin. Thanks for that suggestion.



I completely forgot about plugins for defining user roles and allowing

access so again, thanks.



I will get the bronze and silver upgrade on Monday because I can see that I

will be able to do everything I want with wp-symposium.



I have 2 other questions. When you get to add to the Activity feed (small

posting box) is it possible to find a plugin or a way to add images to that

feed post? Not the WP full posts.



I love the way wp-symposium displays the member feeds in grey boxes. If I

get the upgrade would I be able to get help to have the activity feeds in

the same grey boxes as you see when you click on the members button?



I so appreciate your help because it has made me realise that wp-symposium

is definitely the one for me (with upgrade which is extremely reasonable).

OK so it looks as though "likes" are for forum posts but not activity feeds.

Is there a plugin that would increase this functionality?

I'll get the upgrade and ask more questions then.
