New Gallery Shortcode!
If your site members use their galleries, you can now make them searchable on a site-wide gallery page.
Add it to a page via the Installation page, or manually with the symposium-gallery shortcode.
Searching is easy, and you can search galleries by title, or by the owner’s display name. So if you wan’t to see all of my galleries on www.wpsymposium.com search for “simon” (warning, they’re not very exciting!!)
To squish or not to squish?
The last release merged .JS and .CSS files (where possible) into a single file as this tends to help with performance. However, some site admin’s like to be able to read and edit these files, and so an option to select Normal or Minimised has been added. Find this option on your Settings page.
Widgets via AJAX option
Via the “Widgets AJAX mode” option (also on settings) you can now select whether your WPS widgets load via AJAX after the page has loaded, or your page waits until the page has loaded. See how your site performs, and which you prefer.
Reporting naughty users
Do you want your members to be able to report posts on the forum or on profile pages to the site administrator. Simply activate “Allow reports” on Setting page and a little warning icon will show up on screen (on forum’s and profile activity pages) allowing your members to do so.
Group activity alerts
So group’s activity pages are busy, and want to remain private. Group admin’s can select to exclude their groups activity on their group settings page.
What’s up?
Perhaps you want to change the prompt on member activity pages.
Easy to do now, via the Profile settings page.
Full release contents
The above are some highlights from v11.10.29, for a full list take a look on WPS Trac.

Saving...
Is it possible for the forums to be on seperate pages, like vbulletin/bbpress? I want to have each topic have an individual page. Could this be possible in the future?
At the moment this isn’t possible, but I’ve added it to WPS Trac. I’ll have to take a look at how this can be achieved so not a quick addition, but a good idea, so now on the list!
I would love to have different forums on individual pages – Also groups on individual pages as well, via a short code
Thanks Simon
Dave
I haven’t forgotten you Dave, or this requirement ;) Can’t give you an ETA at the moment though I’m afraid (as someone pointed out to me, and answer of no is better than no answer…..!).
